CAROLINA PSYCHOLOGICAL (CPA) is hiring committed and driven clinicians to join our new multi-disciplinary location in Durham. CPA has been in business for 40 years and has developed a strong reputation in the GSO community for providing families with dependable and high quality care. We have a long history of client retention, with clients often bringing their own children, other family members, or friends to the practice as well. CPA began as a small "family" practice in 1986 and the primary goal throughout the company's growth has been to maintain that culture. Our practice provides a wide array of services including, evaluations, individual therapy, couples counseling, and family counseling, as well as, a variety of therapy groups. We perform evaluations for all ages, from toddlers to the elderly, for a variety of issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, learning differences, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. We are always open to expanding our evaluation specialties and would encourage those with neuropsychology or other evaluation backgrounds to apply.
We are hiring for a clinician who performs evaluations for Part-Time or Full-Time. We have the ability to start a new clinician will a full caseload of evaluation upon starting and would prefer a clinician who is capable of being credentialed with all insurances. Start date is immediate after credentialing is complete.
EVALUATION JOB DUTIES:
1. Conduct psychometric assessments and evaluations to measure cognitive abilities, personality traits and emotional functioning
2. Administer and score standardized tests to assess intellectual, academic, and behavioral functioning
3. Collect and analyze data to identify patterns and trends in psychological test results.
4. Collaborate with other professionals to develop treatment plans based on assessment findings.
5. Provide recommendations for interventions and accommodations based on assessment results.
6. Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, including test scores, observations, and client information.
7. Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in psychometrics
8. Maintain progress notes and records in professional manner and completed within a week.
9. Communicate effectively, clearly, and compassionately with parents of children for continuity of care.
10. Attend trainings, seminars, etc. in order to stay abreast of new research.
11. Run therapeutic, skills oriented, psyo-education, support, process-oriented, (any group of your choosing) etc. groups on rotation, which is no more than once a year.
12. Mentor/support the development of new clinicians to the practice for one year, then transitioning into general supportive colleagial peer mentorship.
13. Travel between Durham and Greensboro offices is occasional required for such things as designated joint staff meetings, team building, office meetings/gatherings, trainings, company event, etc. Mileage is reimbursed.
14. There will be occasion, albeit very rare, that there will be required attendance/participation in activities outside of the clinician's regular schedule. These events may include in-service meetings, trainings, office open-house, sponsorship events, team-building activity, etc.
15. Community outreach and/or company event/engagement (training, attending sponsorship event, providing service to outside referral sources, etc.).

Clinicians have the ability to create their own schedule regarding hours in/out of the office as long as practice requirements are included. All clinicians have the opportunity to adjust their schedule quarterly as they wish. Our administrative staff screen and schedule all initial client appointments, manage all billing and insurance filing and claims, payments and account management are handled by the front office and and they provide additional support as needed. While we don't currently offer health insurance, we are actively investigating potential options. There are monthly staff meetings where lunch is provided in both offices, two case consultation hours/month, and for those in their first year of employment, a requirement to attend a New Hire Supervision with other first year employees to support acclimation to our practice, culture and operations. For those testing, there is a Testing Supervision meeting where all clinicians providing evaluations gather and staff cases for one hour per month.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Master's degree or higher
2. Must be certified by Board of Certified Psychometrists (BCP) or a Licensed School Psychologist
3. Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral health concerns, especially when working with children.
4. Strong analytic skills in order to accurately interpret test results
5. Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate assessment findings to clients and other professionals
6. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
7. Familiarity with special education laws and regulations is preferred but not necessary
8. Compassionate and client focused when working with individuals with diverse needs.
9. Strong time management skills and ability to successfully and efficiently multi-task
10. Sense of humor and ability to laugh is mandatory.
