Position Summary: Scott Felder Homes is an award winning residential homebuilder looking to add to our growing team! Our Austin, TX office is looking for a Purchasing Coordinator with 1 to 2 years purchasing experience. We are seeking a candidate that is self-motivated, extremely reliable, and capable of managing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The selected individual must be a team player, organized and detail-oriented. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a network of trade partners for competitive bidding. Generate purchase orders ensuring accuracy to plan, specifications, contract, change orders and job specific site costs.
- Assist Purchasing Manager with analyzing costs of material, labor, and product to maximize job profitability. Bid architectural plans to subcontractors and vendors.
- Ensure up-to date pricing and products for accuracy on profitability analysis.
- Submit rebates on a quarterly basis and track payments.
- Read and interpret design documents, specifications and option selections.
- Maintain purchasing data within proprietary software.
- Represent the company through quality relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Manage and facilitate the identification of new products and services to improve product quality and increase margin.
- Create and maintain trade partner Scopes of Work.
- Assist in creation, issuance, and posting of job specific purchase orders and budgets, including problem-solving any inaccuracies or trade partner billing questions.
Requirements:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
- 1-2 years purchasing experience in residential home building (Preferred)
- Negotiating experience (Preferred)
- Excel experience (Required)
- Ability to read and understand construction plans/blueprints (Required)
- Residential construction experience (Preferred)
- Excellent writing and organizational skills
- Must be a team player
