Sous Chef / Junior Sous Chef (Full-Time)
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Sous Chef / Junior Sous Chef to support our Head Chef in leading daily kitchen operations. This role is ideal for a motivated culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and takes pride in delivering consistent, high-quality dishes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the right hand to the Head Chef and assist in managing daily kitchen operations.
- Lead and supervise line cooks during service, with a focus on the hot line during peak hours.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Maintain consistent food quality, taste, and execution across all stations.
- Train, coach, and support kitchen staff to maintain high performance and teamwork.
- Assist with kitchen opening and closing procedures, prep planning, and daily production.
- Monitor food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards in compliance with company and health regulations.
- Help manage kitchen inventory, food waste, and product quality.
- Step in for the Head Chef as needed and help maintain smooth kitchen operations during service.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, Lead Cook, or Kitchen Supervisor role in a high-volume, upscale, or premium restaurant.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop a kitchen team.
- Hands-on experience leading a hot line and managing service during busy periods.
- Strong understanding of recipe execution, food quality, portion control, and kitchen organization.
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
- Food safety certification preferred.
- Experience with Asian or contemporary Asian cuisine is a plus.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
