Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team on a PRN (as-needed) basis. In this role, you will provide expert speech and language therapy services to diverse patient populations, including pediatric and geriatric clients. Your primary focus will be assessing communication disorders, developing personalized treatment plans, and implementing effective therapy strategies to improve speech, language, and swallowing functions. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for patients across various age groups, including early intervention for children and rehabilitative therapy for adults.
- Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs and goals.
- Deliver engaging therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based techniques, including telehealth platforms when appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive patient care and optimal outcomes.
- Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment strategies as needed to maximize effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries within electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Educate patients and their families about communication strategies, exercises, and techniques to support ongoing improvement at home.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Experience working with pediatric populations, including early intervention services in school or clinical settings.
- Proven expertise in speech therapy, language therapy, and working with individuals with speech impairments or disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology related to speech and swallowing functions, and medical terminology.
- Ability to perform comprehensive assessments and interpret evaluation results accurately.
- Experience implementing speech-language therapy plans across diverse settings such as clinics, schools, or telehealth environments.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation purposes.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, caregivers, educators, and healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of telehealth best practices and prior experience delivering remote therapy sessions is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with both pediatric and geriatric patients in a compassionate manner that promotes patient-centered care.
