We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Bilingual (Spanish/English) Float Medical Assistant to join our growing geriatrics practice specializing in Medicare Risk.
In this role, you'll provide support wherever it's needed throughout the office. While your primary responsibilities will be as a Medical Assistant, you'll also assist with Front Desk and Referral Coordination duties when coverage is needed. We're looking for someone who is flexible, team-oriented, and enjoys helping in multiple areas to keep our practice running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
Providing excellent customer service
Room patients and obtain vital signs.
Interview patients and accurately document medical history and reason for visit.
Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during appointments.
Maintain accurate and confidential electronic medical records.
Complete assigned HEDIS reports and follow up with patients regarding preventive care services.
Assist with referrals, authorizations, and coordination of specialty appointments.
Provide Front Desk support, including patient check-in/check-out, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance when needed.
Float between Medical Assistant, Front Desk, and Referral Coordinator responsibilities based on daily operational needs.
Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical equipment.
Follow HIPAA guidelines and office policies to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 current year of Medical Assistant work experience required. (externships will not count as work experience)
Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
Medical Assistant certification preferred.
Previous experience with referrals, prior authorizations, or front office responsibilities is a plus.
Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
Experience with EMR systems.
Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to support different departments as needed.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
