As an ICU Registered Nurse, you will provide direct, high-quality patient care for critically ill patients while working collaboratively with physicians, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes.
This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and confident in high-pressure situations.
- Perform comprehensive head-to-toe patient assessments and reassessments
- Administer medications safely and appropriately based on patient age and condition
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, identify dysrhythmias, and report appropriately
- Assist physicians with procedures requiring technical and manual skills
- Manage pain assessments and educate patients/families on pain management
- Revise and evaluate care plans based on patient response to treatment
- Coordinate and supervise patient care as needed
- Safely operate and manage medical equipment and submit repair requests when needed
- Treat patients and families with dignity, compassion, and respect
- Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs
- Involve patients and families in care planning and education
- Collaborate with discharge planning and social services for post-discharge needs
- Communicate professionally with the ICU Nursing Director, physicians, and coworkers
- Collaborate across departments to support interdisciplinary patient care
- Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant documentation
- Support and understand core measures initiatives
- Understand ASQ suicide screening processes, suicide precautions, and 1:1 monitoring requirements
- Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Current BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
- PALS Certification
- Successful completion of Arrhythmia Competency
