You will serve as an important member of our structural engineering team. We offer exposure to many types of projects. Overview: This position requires a working knowledge of structural engineering and construction techniques. You will be responsible for both in-house design and field studies. Additionally, you will be responsible for new and existing construction, forensic investigations, problem solving, preparing or modifying drawings, performing inspections, and preparing forensic reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Required Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with AutoCAD or equivalent drawing software
- Experience in working in residential and commercial projects is preferred
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
- Licensed PE is preferred or ability to obtain PE within 1 year
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to multi-task and work on different projects simultaneously
- Strong technical, written, and oral communications skills
- Experience communicating directly with and providing services to clients
- Must be willing to work with multiple discipline projects within the structure (timber framing, roof systems, and helical piers)
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
- Design structural solutions to unique obstacles found with many projects
- Devise new approaches to problems and prepare or modify drawings, monitor work compliance to applicable codes, and accepted engineering practices
- Prepare and develop detailed AutoCAD drawings from field notes or modify existing plans
- Prepare detailed construction drawings and details
- Prepare reports related to forensic investigations
Physical Demands: This job does involve physical demands of assessing conditions on a job site that may require stooping, climbing, or maneuvering during field studies.
Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
