A landscaping crew member is responsible for performing physical labor tasks related to the maintenance and installation of outdoor landscapes, including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, planting flowers, weeding, removing debris, operating power tools, and assisting with hardscaping projects, all while adhering to safety guidelines and working collaboratively as part of a team. Key responsibilities may include:
- Lawn maintenance: Mowing, edging, trimming, and weed-whacking lawns.
- Plant care: Planting, pruning, weeding, and watering flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Hardscaping assistance: Installing and maintaining patios, walkways, and retaining walls
- Debris removal: Raking leaves, cutting and picking up trees, collecting clippings, and clearing debris from work areas
- Equipment operation: Safely using power tools like mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers, and other landscaping equipment
- Site preparation: Digging trenches, leveling ground, and preparing areas for new plantings
- Clean-up: Maintaining a clean and organized worksite
- Following safety procedures: Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and adhering to safety protocols
