JOB
The purpose of this job is to assist the Parks and Recreation Department in planning, organizing, and conducting various center programs and activities. This position works under general supervision.
These positions are seasonal from April to September, up to 40 hours, and require working a varied schedule to include days, evenings, and weekends. Must be available between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm Monday through Friday.
This listing is for two types of employment: Part-time employment and Seasonal employment. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Serves as a summer camp counselor (Athletics, Traditional, and Outdoors)

Assists in the overall planning, organizing, and conducting of various recreation activities including youth programs, after-school programs, summer camp, special events, and others as needed

Supervise young children ages 6-17 and handle stressful situations

Effectively plan and execute a daily lesson plan of structured activities

Initiates and organizes new activities as needed

Assists in the preparation of publicity materials and in publicizing events

Prepares reports of center utilization

Locks and unlocks center as needed

Performs related work as required.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent. Valid state driver’s license. First aid, CPR, and AED techniques (preferred not required)
