Responsibilities
- Manage retail sales transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems, ensuring quick and efficient checkout processes
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing questions, assisting with product demos, and maintaining a friendly demeanor
- Handle cash handling responsibilities with integrity, including balancing registers and processing refunds or exchanges
- Support merchandising efforts by restocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are attractively presented
- Assist in inventory management through stocking activities and participating in periodic stock counts
- Promote upselling opportunities to enhance sales and improve customer satisfaction
- Maintain professional phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone
Experience
- Prior experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred, especially in grocery store environments or similar settings
- Demonstrated proficiency with POS systems and retail math for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, are highly valued for engaging diverse customer bases
- Supervising experience is a plus, particularly in overseeing cashier teams or assisting with training new staff
- Familiarity with merchandising, product demos, and upselling techniques enhances overall performance
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately to manage transactions and cash reconciliation effectively
- Previous experience in customer service roles that require phone etiquette and professional interaction
