Duties
- Safely load and unload items using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts
- Pack belongings securely to prevent damage during transit, adhering to safe lifting practices and weight handling guidelines
- Operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and personal vehicles for local deliveries, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws
- Load and unload cargo efficiently, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure placement of items
- Assist with warehouse operations by organizing inventory, preparing materials for moving jobs, and maintaining a clean work environment
- Drive route-specific delivery trucks or courier vehicles while adhering to traffic regulations and safety standards
- Communicate professionally with customers during delivery or pickup to ensure a positive experience
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience or moving background preferred but not required; training provided for the right candidate
- Valid driver’s license with experience in commercial driving or courier services; ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is a plus
- Experience with commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or personal vehicle delivery highly desirable
- Familiarity with material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar devices is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally during interactions
