The Specialty Clinic Assistant Manager is a working leadership position responsible for supporting the operations, quality, and growth of specialty services, including Endoscopy, Infusion Clinic, Wound Care, and Heart Failure Clinic. This position maintains direct patient care responsibilities while assisting with staff oversight, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and service line development.
The Assistant Manager serves as a clinical leader and resource, promoting operational efficiency, exceptional patient experiences, and positive patient outcomes while supporting the expansion of specialty services to meet community needs.

Essential Responsibilities
Clinical Operations
- Assist with the daily operations and growth of Endoscopy, Infusion Clinic, Wound Care, and Heart Failure Clinic services.
- Maintain direct patient care responsibilities within assigned specialty service lines.
- Support patient flow, scheduling, staffing, and workflow processes to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes, access to care, and service line performance.
- Identify opportunities for program development and expansion of specialty services.
- Monitor quality metrics and support performance improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for staff.
- Provide support for care coordination activities, including case management, discharge planning, utilization review, and Swing Bed services as needed.
Leadership
- Assist with staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to departmental staff.
- Serve as acting department leader in the absence of the Director.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a patient-centered culture.
Quality and Compliance
- Monitor compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance monitoring.
- Support departmental readiness for audits, surveys, and accreditation activities.
Operational Support
- Assist with productivity monitoring, budget stewardship, and resource utilization.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Support strategic initiatives and growth opportunities within specialty services and care coordination programs.
Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
- BSN preferred.
Licensure
- Current Texas Registered Nurse license required.
- BLS & ACLS certification required.
Experience
- Minimum three years of nursing experience required.
- Leadership experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.
- Proficiency in electronic health records and healthcare technology.
