Position Summary
The Plumbing Service Manager is responsible for the daily operations, profitability, and growth of the plumbing service department. This role oversees technicians, dispatch coordination, customer satisfaction, sales performance, quality control, inventory management, and departmental KPIs.
The ideal candidate has a proven background in residential plumbing service management, enjoys mentoring technicians, and thrives in a performance-driven environment.
ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop plumbing technicians
- Conduct ride-alongs and field training
- Hold weekly department meetings
- Recruit, interview, and onboard new technicians
- Perform performance evaluations
- Create career development plans for employees
- Foster a positive, accountable team culture
Operations Management
- Oversee daily scheduling and workflow
- Ensure jobs are completed efficiently and profitably
- Monitor callback rates and quality control
- Coordinate with dispatch and customer service
- Ensure proper truck inventory and warehouse procedures
- Assist with difficult technical calls when needed
Sales & Revenue
- Monitor technician sales performance
- Coach technicians on presenting repair and replacement options
- Improve average ticket and closing percentage
- Review estimates for accuracy and profitability
- Track department revenue goals
- Work closely with the HVAC and Electrical departments to generate cross-selling opportunities
Customer Experience
- Resolve customer concerns professionally
- Ensure five-star customer service on every call
- Review online customer feedback
- Improve customer retention and referral opportunities
Performance Management
Track and improve department KPIs including:
- Revenue
- Average ticket
- Membership sales
- Conversion rate
- Maintenance agreements
- Technician efficiency
- Gross profit
- Callback percentage
- Customer satisfaction
- Technician productivity
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with plumbing codes and company standards
- Maintain safety procedures
- Enforce company policies
- Maintain required licenses and certifications
QualificationsRequired
- 5+ years residential plumbing experience
- 2+ years management or supervisory experience
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to motivate and hold employees accountable
- Strong customer service background
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Preferred
- Residential service management experience
- Nexstar, ServiceTitan, or similar software experience
- Experience managing KPI-driven departments
- Strong estimating and sales background

Pay: $73,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
