American Traveler is hiring a Chemo-Certified Oncology RN for a BMT/Oncology unit at an acute care teaching hospital in Washington, DC, requiring at least 2 years of experience and one prior travel assignment.

BMT/Oncology unit within a 402-bed short-term acute care academic teaching hospital

Patient ratio of 1:4-5

Rotating day and night shifts (3x12-hour shifts); days run 7:30–18:00 and nights run 18:30–7:00

Schedule is built around unit needs; nurses may submit preferences for future scheduling periods

Approximately every other weekend shift required, depending on unit needs

Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Charting in Cerner
-
Skills required: chemotherapy administration, telemetry, and IV starts

Active DC RN license required; pending DC license considered if active prior to start

Current certifications: BLS and ONS Chemotherapy certification

BSN preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

At least one previous travel assignment or one month of per diem experience required

BMT, hematology, or medical oncology experience preferred; strong Med/Surg background also considered

Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate

2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
