We are seeking compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician/Resident Care Aide(s) to join our growing team. Cranberry Landing is looking for the ideal candidate(s) will be responsible for administering medications, monitoring patient health, and providing exceptional care to residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. This role requires a strong understanding of procedures, medication management, and patient safety, with a focus on enhancing the quality of life for individuals with various health needs including dementia, Alzheimer's, and developmental disabilities. The Medication Technician/Resident Care will work closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate medication administration and comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications accurately according to physician orders and facility protocols
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and overall health status regularly
- Document medication administration and patient responses using electronic health record
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Observe and report any adverse reactions or changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly
- Support residents with memory care, hospice, dementia, and other specialized needs with patience and empathy
- Follow safety procedures to prevent medication errors and ensure proper storage of medications
- Assist in medical documentation and maintain accurate medical records in accordance with healthcare standards
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive patient care
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or home care environments preferred
- Experience working with individuals in memory care settings is a plus
- Background in hospice care, senior care, or working with patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease is advantageous
- Previous caregiving experience in acute or community-based care settings is beneficial
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive medical information following HIPAA guidelines
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work compassionately with diverse populations
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
