Job Summary
The Injection Molding Engineer is a hands-on role responsible for establishing molding conditions, integrating new projects into production, and driving continuous improvement. You will act as the technical subject matter expert, ensuring that products are manufactured within quality standards, cycle times are optimized, and scrap is minimized.
Key Responsibilities
Process Optimization: Develop and document scientific molding parameters to ensure manufacturing consistency and optimal run efficiency.
New Product Launch: Collaborate with product design and tooling teams to trial new molds, troubleshoot design flaws, and validate production parameters.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose equipment, tooling, or material issues and develop root-cause analyses and corrective actions.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all manufactured plastic parts meet strict customer specifications and ISO/quality standards.
Training & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership to process technicians, operators, and other molding personnel on the production floor.
Schedule and oversee mold PM’s, coordinate mold cleaning and repairs, and make sure tooling and equipment stays in optimal condition to minimize downtime and defects.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven, hands-on experience in plastic injection molding processing.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of scientific molding principles, decoupled molding, and mold design.
Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, root-cause problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
Education: Engineering degree a Plus but not required
