Duties
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by observing behavior and reporting changes to healthcare teams
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet dietary needs and preferences
- Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning routines and adherence to infection control protocols
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being, especially for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Participate in training to enhance your caregiving skills
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each person’s needs
Skills
- Experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments, or willingness to learn
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately, or willingness to learn
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information, or willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
- Compassionate attitude with patience for working with developmental disabilities or mental health diagnosis.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team of healthcare professionals
