Summary: Assists with the installation of plumbing pipe, valves, fittings and fixtures in buildings
contracted with the company. Works in a variety of construction areas under constant direction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists to install, connect and test complete water and sanitary piping systems.
- Mobilize material as directed.
- Maintains required paperwork.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must supply all tools to complete the tasks assigned.
- Must provide own transportation to and from the jobsite as required for the work shift. May be
required to work unusual hours, holidays, and weekends. Must constantly protect the interests of
the company and promote its success.
- Be willing to learn the principles, methods, tools, and equipment used in the trade.
- Must be able to follow directions and instructions.
- Must become knowledgeable and have the ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Make penetrations in floors, walls and roofs as needed for piping installation as directed.
- Being comfortable working in confined spaces and places at great heights.
- Learn to install piping straight, level, plumb, and cleanly, to code in a professional workmanship
manner.
- Test and verify plumbing as directed.
- Able to follow oral and or written directions.
- Able to instruct and train unskilled workers in a safe manner.
- Learn to become knowledgeable of local plumbing codes.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with those
contacted in the course of work at all levels, including a culturally diverse general public, with a
focus on quality service to all.
Education/Training/Experience
- Must become familiar and comply with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
- Ability to calculate basic math problems.
- Able to read and understand a tape measure and learn to read prints.
Physical Capabilities
- Be able to continuously bend, stretch, kneel and climb as necessary. Must also be able to lift at
least 50 pounds of material on a continuous basis and able to do overhead work for long durations.
Health compatible for jobsite conditions including mobilizing in trenches and in sandy conditions.
- Able to work in 90+ degree heat daily.
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
