We are a sole proprietor general dental office conveniently located in Chatsworth, near Porter Ranch. We emphasize preventative and restorative dentistry and have a robust dental hygiene program. We accept PPO insurances and patients who pay for their dental work. We do not accept HMO or Medicaid insurance. The office is well established and we enjoy providing quality dental care to our multigenerational patient base.
Job Overview
Our Chatsworth office is seeking a local (live within 10 miles) part time administrative assistant with primary responsibility being a member of the front office receptionist team with occasional back office duties as needed. Previous dental office experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients and visitors in a friendly, helpful and professional manner.
- Ensure patients are wearing approved non-cloth mask before entry. Provide mask when needed.
- Heavy use primarily of texting and secondarily of phones to communicate patients appointment information and verification.
- Manage 3 lines of incoming calls identifying patients with dental emergencies.
- Schedule basic cleaning appointments, root canal, filling, crown etc appointments.
- Maintain the paper appointment calendars.
- Ensure the completion of the patient pre-appointment health screening.
- Verify patient information and any insurance details.
- Maintain accurate patient chart records.
- Handle filing and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Ensure the front desk area and waiting room are organized, clean and welcoming at all times.
- Help ensure the patient lavatory is tidy, stocked and sanitized.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth clinic operations.
- Address patient inquiries and concerns promptly to enhance their experience at our facility.
- Follow up as needed.
- Assist dental assistants in sterilizing instruments, cleaning rooms and office space as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a dental office receptionist or in a similar role within a dental setting is required.
- Must demonstrate neat handwriting and be a self starter.
- Familiarity with basic dental terminology and office management practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- Excellent, concise communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining accurate attention to detail and working harmoniously with coworkers.
- High school diploma or GED is required
- No computer experience is needed.
