Early Childhood Educator

Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic early childhood educator to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and committed to creating a positive learning environment that encourages each child's individual growth. The early childhood educator will plan and implement age-appropriate activities, ensure children's health and safety, and build positive relationships with families and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
- Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support children's cognitive, physical, emotional, and social development.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom.
- Observe and document children's progress and communicate with families regularly.
- Foster positive relationships with parents, guardians, and coworkers.
- Follow all licensing regulations, organizational policies, and health and safety procedures.
- Assist children with daily routines, including meals, toileting, rest time, and transitions.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required training.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood education setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to pass all required background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
Preferred:
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Knowledge of child development principles and positive behavior guidance techniques.
- Experience with lesson planning and developmental assessments.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 40 pounds.
- Sit, stand, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the day.
- Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
