Position Summary
The Vendor Manager is responsible for developing, sourcing, qualifying, and managing a high-performing network of service providers that supports DAVACO's operational and customer needs. This role partners closely with Operations and other internal stakeholders to ensure adequate vendor coverage, rapid response capabilities, strong vendor relationships, and ongoing compliance.
The Vendor Manager serves as the strategic liaison between DAVACO and its vendor network, balancing proactive sourcing, relationship management, vendor compliance, and operational support to ensure exceptional service delivery across the organization.
The successful candidate is accountable for proactive and reactive vendor sourcing, vendor onboarding, compliance management, relationship development, vendor performance, issue resolution, and de-escalation while delivering exceptional support to both internal teams and vendor partners.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform proactive and reactive vendor sourcing to support current and future business needs.
- Recruit, evaluate, qualify, and onboard vendors across all service lines.
- Guide vendors through the onboarding and compliance process, ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Build, develop, and maintain strong, long-term relationships with vendors through consistent communication and engagement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors and provide exceptional relationship management throughout the vendor lifecycle.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for vendor-related concerns, partnering with internal stakeholders to resolve issues while preserving strong vendor relationships.
- Partner with Operations to resolve vendor performance issues, service challenges, and coverage gaps while ensuring timely service delivery.
- Negotiate vendor pricing, capabilities, service offerings, and market coverage to support company objectives.
- Maintain accurate vendor records, certifications, trades, service capabilities, rates, and other vendor information within company systems.
- Monitor vendor performance and identify opportunities to improve quality, responsiveness, and overall network strength.
- Collaborate with fellow Vendor Managers to support vendor sourcing and operational needs across all markets.
- Assist with vendor scorecards, reporting, strategic sourcing initiatives, process improvements, and special projects.
- Continuously identify opportunities to strengthen and expand DAVACO's vendor network.
- Perform other duties, special projects, and strategic initiatives as assigned to support the continued growth and success of the Vendor Management department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Vendor Management, Vendor Relations, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Relations, Procurement, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Experience recruiting and managing subcontractor or vendor networks preferred.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Experience working within ERP, CRM, or vendor management platforms preferred.
