You will supervise, educate, and coach the Quality Assurance Team, and champion a company-wide culture of product quality excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):
1. Actively engaged support in planning, defining, and directing the site auditing control program to ensure compliance to all procedures and policies, GMP standards and regulatory/ federal and local laws.
2. Ensure compliance with product and process specifications (Quality Standards) and metrics to monitor and report product and process performance and assure consistent product quality excellence.
3. Maintain performance of cGMP, SSOP and HACCP programs, including GFSI (SQF) systems
4. Support all internal and external inspections/regulatory visits. Support audit preparation activities and complete necessary reports and postings, including documentation, communication, corrective and preventive actions.
5. Perform follow-ups to non-conformances found and provide responses as appropriate. Review and approve minor change requests.
6. Under the direction of Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager, investigate, respond to and document food safety product quality issues.
7. Alert and assist FSQA Manager regarding food safety quality issues, customer complaints and related technical matters.
8. Support liaison for local regulatory agencies with FDA, USDA, state and local agencies in areas of food safety, health, agriculture.
9. Supervise QA hourly employees, ensure training on food safety and quality procedures, maintain a high standard of staff performance.
10. Assist in developing schedules, forms, records, SOP and documentation to support the food safety program.
11. Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
BS degree in food science, biology, chemistry, or related field.
Proven history of technical quality or production knowledge of policies & programs in food or relevant manufacturing settings.
HACCP certification required.
Working knowledge of GFSI schemes (BRC, SQF, FSSC 22000).
Possess working knowledge of FDA (including CFR) and USDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, sanitation, pest control, and food allergens.
1+ years of experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance/Control in a food manufacturing setting is required. Fruit juice and beverage experience is a plus.
1+ years of supervisory experience, leading a team of 2+ employees is required.
1+ years of HACCP implementation experience is required.
Juice and beverage pasteurization, aseptic processing, or related processes knowledge is preferred.
Experience in Sanitation systems, QA laboratory equipment, analytical/microbiological testing methodologies is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Leadership and oral/written communications skills.
