About the Role:
The Payroll Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll within the organization. This position is responsible for managing payroll data, verifying timesheets, and coordinating with various departments to resolve discrepancies. The Payroll Coordinator ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all payroll activities. This role also involves preparing reports, assisting with audits, and supporting payroll system improvements to enhance efficiency. Ultimately, the Payroll Coordinator contributes to employee satisfaction by ensuring that compensation is processed correctly and on schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

At least 2 years of experience in payroll processing or a related administrative role.

Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements in the United States.

Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience with major payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, or Workday.

Certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).

Responsibilities:

Process and verify payroll data for all employees, including hours worked, overtime, and deductions.

Coordinate with HR and finance departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll inquiries.

Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports to government agencies in a timely manner.
