About the role

The Part-Time Talent Manager is the dedicated owner of the daily employee lifecycle at Apex Leaders. This role focuses on execution, administration, and employee support for our 40+ person, low turnover team.

The primary goal is to run a seamless, compliant, and supportive HR function - managing everything from recruiting logistics and onboarding to quarterly performance cycles and benefits administration - to maintain our strong culture as repeated Best Workplace winners.

Apex Leaders utilizes Rippling as its HRIS and Talent Management system. Experience with Rippling, or a similar sandbox data / workflow-based system is preferred.

Apex Leaders is based in Boise ID, and preference will therefore be given to local candidates. Candidates will be expected to work in-person at our Downtown Boise office for a minimum of two half-days per week.
What you'll do
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

Recruitment Logistics: Manage job postings via Rippling ATS, review incoming applications, schedule interviews, and route qualified candidates to hiring managers. Act as the primary internal contact for external recruiters when specialized sourcing is required.

Role Alignment: Partner with hiring managers to draft/update job descriptions, establish competitive compensation ranges, and confirm final offer details.

Offer & Onboarding: Extend verbal offer calls, generate offer letters in Rippling, conduct reference checks, and host pre-start onboarding check-in calls.
Training, Development & Career Architecture

Program Execution: Lead the design, upkeep, and facilitation of company-wide new-hire onboarding and continuous training programs.

Career Pathing: Collaborate with leadership on career path design across departments, ensuring job architectures evolve alongside internal system advancements.

HR Systems & Assessments: Assist with feedback and monitoring of Rippling apps and tools, maintain organizational documentation and measure overall system effectiveness.
Rewards & Compensation Management

Compensation Benchmarking: Conduct periodic market analyses to maintain competitive and equitable salary bands across all internal positions.

Benefits Administration: Partner with Finance, our benefits broker (HUB) and Rippling to coordinate and administer annual Open Enrollment and answer benefit inquiries.

Multi-State Compliance: Ensure correct onboarding flows in partnership with Finance to maintain state-by-state compliance for statutory leave, disability, and employee benefit offerings across all remote employee locations.
Performance Management & Employee Relations

Review Cycle Operations: Manage quarterly and annual review cycles, stay interviews/anniversary check-ins, and ABC player assessments.

Manager Support & Coaching: Advise leaders on performance management issues, PIPs, and succession planning as needed.
Culture, Engagement & Offboarding

Culture Initiatives: Coordinate logistics for company-wide culture events (Annual Apex Week, Annual Holiday Party etc.) and gather post-event feedback.

Survey Administration: Administer surveys utilizing Rippling; lead focus groups to translate survey findings into actionable initiatives alongside the Culture Committee.

Offboarding Execution: Execute offboarding workflows in Rippling, draft separation documentation, conduct exit interviews.
Compliance & HR Operations

Documentation & Verification: Ensure 100% compliance for new hire I-9 verifications and state-required onboarding disclosures in Rippling.

Policy Maintenance: Regularly review, update, and distribute the Apex Leaders Employee Handbook and related internal policy documents via Rippling Document Management.
Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience as an HR Manager, HR Generalist, or People Ops Specialist.

Familiarity with modern HRIS platforms (experience with Rippling is a plus).

Strong execution skills—someone who enjoys the "weeds" of HR administration and employee support over high-level organizational design.

Excellent discretion and communication skills for handling sensitive compensation and performance data.
The pay range for this role is:
45 - 55 USD per hour(HQ)
