Position Overview
Base Electrical Services, LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented full time Commercial/Industrial Electrical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical project installations. We are a family owned, respected, established union electrical contractor.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and blueprints to develop detailed electrical estimates.
- Perform material take-offs and quantity surveys for all electrical components.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing.
- Prepare comprehensive bid packages including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects and clients to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor market pricing trends for materials and adjust estimates accordingly.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, bids, and supporting documentation.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, job walks, and post-bid reviews.
- Support the project management team during project hand-off and contract negotiations.
- Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without sacrificing quality.
Experience Required
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical estimating or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, NEC 2008 code, and installation practices.
- Experience with estimating software preferred (Accubid, ConEst, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Proficient in Adobe DC, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate, connect and collaborate effectively with others internally and externally to foster a positive relationship and productive interactions.
- Consistent self-starter, ability to prioritize.
- High achiever.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred but not necessary
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Technology, Construction Management, or related field.
- Experience with commercial and/or industrial electrical projects.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend).
