Job Description – Remote Telehealth Professional Counselor Associate & Marriage and Family Therapist AssociateCongruent Therapy – W-2 Position with In-House Clinical SupervisionAbout Us
Congruent Therapy, founded by Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Italia Hensley, is a growing group practice built on collaboration, authenticity, creativity, and inclusivity. Our mission is to provide ethical, affirming, and comprehensive care while investing in the professional growth of our clinicians. We strive to create a workplace where therapists feel supported, challenged, and empowered to become the clinicians they aspire to be.
All positions are fully remote (telehealth) and W-2 employee positions serving clients throughout Oregon.
Our Culture
At Congruent Therapy, we believe exceptional client care begins with taking care of our clinicians.
We value flexibility, professional growth, authenticity, and individuality. Our therapists come from diverse backgrounds, identities, training experiences, and clinical perspectives. While we encourage collaboration and community, participation beyond your clinical responsibilities is always optional. Some clinicians thrive through team connection, while others prefer to focus primarily on their client work—we support both.
Through onboarding, supervision, and consultation, we help clinicians refine their own therapeutic voice while maintaining high standards of ethical and culturally responsive care. We are committed to creating an affirming, inclusive environment where both clinicians and clients can thrive.
Position Overview
We are currently seeking Professional Counselor Associates and Marriage and Family Therapist Associates pursuing Oregon licensure to join our growing telehealth team.
We provide weekly in-house clinical supervision and are specifically seeking clinicians with experience working with:
- LGBTQIA+ communities
- Neurodivergent individuals (including ADHD and Autism)
- Kink and BD$M communities
- Consensual Non-Monogamy (CNM)
- Polyamorous relationship systems
Our practice primarily serves adult individuals, couples, and relationship systems, and we are looking for clinicians who are passionate about providing affirming, identity-informed, sex-positive care.
This position requires clinicians to maintain an average caseload of 24 client sessions per week to be considered full-time, with one unpaid hour of weekly supervision. 26 client sessions per week to qualify for health insurance.
Clinicians who wish to maintain a larger caseload are welcome to do so, provided documentation remains current and self-care are maintained.
Clinical Supervision
Madison provides clinical supervision for Professional Counselor Associates and, as appropriate under Oregon Board requirements, Marriage and Family Therapist Associates in Oregon. To ensure she is well-equipped to supervise both professions, Madison completed the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Fundamentals of Supervision Course, which includes the systems-focused training required to supervise Marriage and Family Therapist Associates in Oregon.
She is deeply passionate about helping therapists navigate the rewarding—and sometimes overwhelming—journey from graduate school to independent licensure.
"My own path to becoming a therapist was full of moments where I felt like I was both too much and not enough. I remember trying to fit into an image of what a therapist 'should' be, even when it didn't feel authentic to who I am. Those experiences shaped how I now approach supervision—with authenticity, curiosity, and deep respect for each associate's unique voice.I view supervision as a collaborative and creative space where associates can develop confidence, strengthen clinical insight, experiment with their therapeutic style, and become the therapist they genuinely want to be. Together we'll build your confidence, deepen your clinical thinking, and help you provide care that feels authentic, grounded, and sustainable. If you're looking for supervision that is relational, reflective, supportive, and perhaps a little playful, I'd love to connect and see if we're a good fit."

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation
We believe in recognizing growth, initiative, and clinical excellence.
- Professional Counselor Associates and Marriage and Family Therapist Associates begin at $60 per completed clinical session.
- Associates receive a performance and compensation review every six months and are eligible for merit-based increases until reaching $70 per completed clinical session.
- Upon obtaining independent Oregon licensure, clinicians move to our licensed clinician pay scale and become eligible for additional merit-based increases until reaching $80 per completed clinical session.
We recognize that some practices may advertise higher per-session rates. At Congruent Therapy, we intentionally balance competitive compensation with meaningful support and long-term investment in our clinicians. Rather than expecting associates to manage every aspect of private practice independently, we provide in-house clinical supervision, dedicated billing support, liability insurance, referrals, marketing, onboarding, professional development opportunities, administrative assistance, and a collaborative team environment.
As clinicians grow their caseloads, they also become eligible for additional benefits, including a 401(k), employer-paid Aflac Short-Term Disability Insurance, access to additional Aflac group-rate benefits, and an employer contribution toward Kaiser Health and Vision Insurance.
One benefit we are especially proud to offer is employer-paid Aflac Short-Term Disability Insurance. Once eligible, this benefit can provide up to $6,000 per month for up to three months for qualifying events, helping provide financial stability during life's unexpected challenges. Unlike many employer-sponsored disability plans, this benefit is available for separate qualifying events, subject to the terms and eligibility requirements of the policy.
We also want to be transparent that Congruent Therapy does not currently offer paid time off, and we do not anticipate adding paid time off in the foreseeable future. Instead, we prioritize clinician flexibility by allowing clinicians to schedule up to two months of unpaid time off each year, giving them the autonomy to build schedules that support both their personal well-being and professional goals.
Performance and compensation reviews consider factors such as clinical performance, documentation quality, professionalism, reliability, client retention, continued professional growth, contribution to the practice, and overall alignment with Congruent Therapy's values and culture.

Why Join Congruent Therapy?
At Congruent Therapy, we are intentionally building more than a group practice—we are building a community of clinicians who are passionate about authenticity, curiosity, and exceptional clinical care.
Our practice specializes in serving LGBTQIA+ communities, neurodivergent individuals, kink/BD$M communities, consensually non-monogamous (CNM) and polyamorous relationship systems, and those navigating complex relational dynamics. We are looking for clinicians who are excited to work with these populations, approach therapy through an affirming and identity-informed lens, and believe every client deserves a space where they feel genuinely seen, respected, and understood.
We value clinicians who are lifelong learners, enjoy collaboration and consultation, welcome feedback, and are committed to continually growing both personally and professionally. Whether you are beginning your career as an associate or preparing for independent licensure, our goal is to help you develop not only strong clinical skills, but also a sustainable, fulfilling career.
