Lead Budtender

About Us
We are a newly licensed cannabis dispensary preparing for our grand opening in New York. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Dispensary Manager who can help establish daily operations, train staff, maintain compliance, and create an exceptional customer experience from day one.
This role is ideal for someone who has already worked in a dispensary leadership position and is looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a growing business.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day dispensary operations
- Serve as a floor leader and support budtender staff
- Train, coach, and develop new employees
- Manage opening and closing procedures
- Ensure compliance with all New York State cannabis regulations
- Oversee inventory management, receiving, audits, and reconciliations
- Maintain and optimize Dutchie POS operations
- Assist with scheduling, cash handling, and operational reporting
- Help develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Resolve customer service issues professionally
- Work closely with ownership to improve operational efficiency and profitability
Qualifications
Required:
- 2–4+ years of cannabis dispensary experience
- Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Shift Manager, Lead budtender or similar leadership role in a licensed dispensary
- Strong working knowledge of Dutchie POS
- Experience with inventory control, compliance, and dispensary operations
- Proven ability to train and mentor team members
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Reliable, accountable, and self-motivated
Preferred:
- Experience opening a new dispensary location
- Knowledge of New York cannabis regulations
- Experience creating SOPs and operational workflows

You will work directly with ownership and have a significant voice in shaping store operations, team culture, and customer experience.
