Skills Lab & Simulation Instructor – Vocational Nursing Program
Career Development Institute (CDI) is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Skills Lab & Simulation Instructor to join our Vocational Nursing program.
This is a great opportunity for an LVN or RN who loves nursing, learning, and teaching and enjoys helping students connect classroom theory with hands-on clinical practice. We are looking for someone who is engaging, patient, organized, and confident in both nursing theory and clinical skills.
Qualifications: LVN or RN with DEGREE (Please do not apply if you do not have an AA or Bachelor's)
**********Candidates MUST meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, OR
Associate's degree with a minimum of 6 years of clinical nursing experience.
Position Responsibilities
The Skills Lab & Simulation Instructor will:
- Teach and demonstrate hands-on nursing skills appropriate to the Vocational Nursing scope of practice.
- Facilitate skills labs, simulation activities, and clinical scenarios.
- Reinforce nursing theory and help students connect classroom concepts to patient care.
- Guide students through clinical reasoning, prioritization, patient safety, and NCLEX-PN style thinking.
- Provide supportive, constructive feedback during skills practice and simulation.
- Evaluate student competency using established skills checklists and simulation rubrics.
- Facilitate prebriefing and debriefing following simulation activities.
- Maintain a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with nursing faculty to ensure skills and simulation activities align with course objectives and program curriculum.
- Assist with maintaining and organizing skills lab and simulation equipment.

- Understands the importance of connecting theory, clinical practice, and NCLEX preparation.
- Is patient and encouraging while maintaining appropriate academic and clinical standards.
- Works well collaboratively with faculty and program leadership.
- Brings enthusiasm, professionalism, and a positive attitude to the learning environment.
