American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in a Subintensive Medical Unit (PCU) on night shifts, requiring at least 18 months of experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Work setting is a hospital-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU) that is the only 24/7 acute care unit on campus, accommodating up to 36 patients

Multi-specialty unit primarily focused on MS/Tele care, serving both medical and surgical patient populations
-
Medical patients include those requiring dialysis, telemetry monitoring, and other acute medical needs
-
Surgical patient populations include orthopedic procedures (fractures, shoulders, backs) and general surgery (appendectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, colon resection)
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6, supported by a Team Leader who is out of staffing

EMR system is Meditech (experience preferred but not required)

Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

36 hours per week

Every other weekend required

Holiday coverage required

Floating to other units and hospital campuses is required

Active AL state or compact RN license required — no temporary or pending licenses accepted

No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed

AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required

Associate degree in nursing (ADN) minimum required

Minimum 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional license, with at least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry

NURSYS verification required

Current driver's license required for consideration

Two professional references within the last year required for consideration

Care focus includes pain management, mobility, and prevention of complications with a goal of optimal patient outcomes

Team-oriented unit culture with a strong emphasis on patient-centered care

A cardiac exam will be required after offer acceptance

No HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation

Timekeeping is managed through Centricity

Solid navy scrubs required
