Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites and industrial facilities, utilizing your technical skills to deliver high-quality electrical solutions efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Install, wire, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to accurately execute electrical installations and repairs.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and high voltage equipment to ensure proper operation of complex automation systems.
- Conduct inspections using tools such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues and verify system integrity.
- Follow all safety protocols in accordance with NEC standards while working on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades such as frame carpentry or handyman services to coordinate work efforts.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports, troubleshooting logs, and compliance documentation.
Skills
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to electrical installations.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage wiring, and high voltage systems.
- Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers) and power tools safely and effectively on construction sites.
- Knowledge of NEC regulations and safety standards applicable to electrical work.
- Ability to operate testing equipment such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting purposes.
- Experience working on renovation projects or construction sites with a focus on electrical system upgrades or new installations.
- Familiarity with framing carpentry or handyman tasks is a plus for versatile project support.
