Accounting Manager/Financial Reporting
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 base salary + annual bonus
Employment Type: Full-Time
Note: Candidates must currently reside in the Oklahoma City metro area.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and oversee the investment accounting function for a well-established organization in Oklahoma City. This role is responsible for supervising the investment accounting team, managing financial reporting and analysis, ensuring compliance with statutory accounting principles (SAP), generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and other applicable accounting standards, and providing leadership on complex accounting and reporting matters.
The Accounting Manager will play a key role in regulatory reporting, audit support, financial analysis, and process improvement while serving as a trusted resource for internal stakeholders and affiliated companies.
Required Qualifications:
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- In lieu of a CPA or Master’s degree, candidates with 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant financial reporting responsibilities, will be considered.
Experience & Skills
- Public accounting and/or public accounting management experience required.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- ERP system experience required.
- Experience with consolidated financial statements preferred.
- Strong analytical, financial reporting, and financial statement review skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
- Experience with data analytics, business intelligence, and data visualization tools is a plus.
- Proven ability to interpret complex financial data and ensure compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to the investment accounting team.
- Review and prepare financial reports in accordance with SAP, GAAP, tax basis, or cash basis accounting standards, as applicable.
- Oversee the preparation and review of regulatory filings, annual statements, annual audit reports, and other required financial reporting.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial reporting and accounting activities.
- Lead complex accounting research projects and provide recommendations on technical accounting matters.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of accounting systems, reporting tools, and relevant source systems.
- Collaborate with internal business partners, affiliated companies, and external auditors.
- Review work produced by accounting staff and provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development.
- Analyze financial data and reporting processes to ensure compliance with established accounting standards.
- Support process improvements and reporting enhancements through data analytics and technology solutions.
Compensation & Benefits
