Manager of Technology – 12 month, Full-time
Summary and Scope of Role
The Manager of Technology provides onsite support and leadership of the school’s technology (MAC based) infrastructure partnering with third party vendors as needed. This position identifies, develops and implements appropriate evidence-based technology in conjunction with school leadership to enhance our faculty, staff and students’ creativity, productivity, access to curriculum and executive function skills. The Manager of Technology is in charge of data security for the school and its assets. This position serves on the One School Team as needed and reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities
School Culture and School Operations

● Consistently and effectively use the conflict resolution
● Develop and sustain relationships with colleagues, parents, and members of the Marburn Academy community that are professional, collegial, and collaborative
● Manage confidentiality aspect of student, parent, and colleague relationships,and of internal Marburn affairs according to established school guidelines
● Establish and maintain appropriate personal “boundaries” in relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
● Attend and participate in professional development opportunities
● Abide by all policies articulated in the Student and Employee Handbook and other school and board policies
● Represent and support the school at various functions both internally and externally relative to the role of staff member.
● Effectively perform other duties assigned by the Head of School, Associate Head of School, and/or Leadership team member.
● Support the school and its leadership
● Serve on school-wide and standing committees as needed
Technology
● Manage relationships with selected third-party consultants to assure ongoing maintenance and upgrading of school’s technology infrastructure including procurement, deployment etc. of all IT systems
● Develop upgrade and improvement plans, research and evaluate necessary upgrades
● Assure technology disaster recovery plans are developed and updated
● Develop and manage budget and forecast associated with all technology services, and equipment
● Tests software prior to deployment to ensure functionality and safety
● Maintain inventory of technology equipment
● Investigates activities such as classroom management software, phishing, spam and other security issues. May utilize security footage as necessary
● Responsible for developing and implementing systems and guidelines for orderly and reliable workflow in response to Tech Requests.
● Serve as a consultant for various school wide teams and initiatives
● Manage all software such as Google, Veracross, SWANK Streaming, Curbsmart, Lexia, Pro Writing Aid, Learning Ally, Amplified, Figma and Impero
● May teach technology classes in all grade levels as needed
● Spend time in teacher classrooms, observing lessons and student activities and make recommendations/offerings for technology tools and support as needed
● Ensure appropriate assistive technology tools are loaded on student computers and students can use them effectively
● Work collaboratively with the leadership team and teachers to develop the technology strategy and direction for the school
● Manage sound, visuals and recordings of specific organizational programs
● Oversee annual processes such as enrollment, reenrollment, conference signups, withdraws, opening and closing of school, etc.
● Implement selected technology tools including AI and train staff and parents in the effective use of these tools
● Conduct ongoing professional development related to effective integration of technology into the classroom for faculty
● Ensure the parents are informed of the nature and uses of software that is installed on student computers
● Consults as necessary regarding new students and discusses effective and appropriate AT tools for that student
● Conduct or support parent and communication education sessions for adults interested in learning more about the school’s technology program and services
● Manage technology department personnel
● Performs other duties as assigned
Safety
● Serves as the lead of the Safety Committee
● Responsible for the updating, maintaining and submitting of the EOP
● Coordinates safety drills and ensures state compliance
Qualifications and Skills
● Alignment with Marburn’s mission and core values

● Strong interpersonal acuity and a proven ability to forge relationships with a large and diverse community of people
● Bachelor’s degree in Technology or related field
● 5+ years of experience in the field or equivalent experience
● Extensive knowledge and experience in a MAC environment
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Intelligence, critical thinking, focus, and creativity
● Successfully pass a background check (FBI, BCI, Sex Offender)
Physical Requirements
● Ability to stand, traverse for extended periods of time two plus hours or more
● Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time of two plus hours
● Ability to visually detect, observe and recognize
● Verbally and audibly communicate and exchange information with ability to position oneself to do so
● Ability to lift:
o Regularly up to 10lbs
o Frequently up to 11lbs–30lbs
o Occasionally over 30lbs
o Rarely up to 50lbs with assistance as required
Hours
● Core business hours are between 7:30am and 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Specific hours will be determined with supervisor.
● Occasionally, the staff member will be required to participate in certain activities such as field trips, afternoon or evening events, and overnight or weekend programs that will occur outside of the regular daily hours mentioned above (e.g. Graduation, College Fair, Open House, Evening Seminars, Curriculum Night, Dances, etc.).

Pay: $65,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
