Retina Ophthalmic Technician
Join Our Growing Retina Practice
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our busy, patient-focused retina specialty practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ophthalmic technician who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional care to patients with retinal diseases and conditions.
Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for examination by obtaining medical and ocular histories.- Perform visual acuity testing, refractions, intraocular pressure measurements, and pupil assessments.
- Instill dilating and diagnostic eye drops as directed.
- Obtain diagnostic testing, including OCT, fundus photography, visual fields, and other retinal imaging.
- Assist physicians with retinal examinations and in-office procedures, including intravitreal injections and laser treatments.
- Accurately document findings and patient information within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Educate patients regarding treatments, medications, and follow-up care.
- Maintain exam rooms, instruments, and equipment according to practice protocols.
- Work collaboratively with physicians and fellow team members to provide outstanding patient care.
Qualifications:
Previous ophthalmic experience required; retina experience preferred.- COA, COT, or COMT certification is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, anatomy, and diagnostic testing.
- Strong computer and EMR skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
