Job Title: Warehouse Shipper/Receiver
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Shipper/Receiver is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring products are stored and transported safely and efficiently. This role plays a key part in supporting warehouse operations and meeting delivery schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders or invoices
- Unload trucks and properly store materials in designated warehouse locations
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company standards
- Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other documentation
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts
- Report damaged or missing items to supervisors
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies
- Keep warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards
- Coordinate with carriers and internal teams to meet shipping deadlines
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience preferred
- Basic computer skills (inventory systems, shipping software)
- Ability to operate forklifts (certification a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Work Environment:
- Warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures
- Frequent lifting, bending, and walking
Preferred Skills (Optional):
- Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, WMS)
- Knowledge of shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL freight)
- Basic math and data entry accuracy
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
