Construction Quality Control Representative (Contract)

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Quality Control (QC) Representative to oversee quality assurance and quality control activities on a National Park Service construction project located in Bayfield, Wisconsin. This is an on-site position responsible for ensuring all work is performed in accordance with project specifications, contract requirements, safety standards, and federal regulations.
The ideal candidate will have experience with construction quality control, documentation management, inspections, and subcontractor coordination. Previous experience working on federal construction projects (National Park Service, USACE, VA, GSA, Department of Defense, etc.) is highly preferred.
This is a contract position anticipated to run through October 2026, with the possibility of future opportunities based on project needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily quality control inspections of construction activities.
- Monitor work to ensure compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Maintain project quality control documentation and records.
- Prepare and submit daily reports, inspection reports, and deficiency logs.
- Coordinate and participate in preparatory meetings, initial inspections, and follow-up inspections.
- Track and verify corrective actions for non-conforming work.
- Coordinate with project management, subcontractors, and government representatives.
- Review submittals, material deliveries, and installation procedures for compliance.
- Assist with project closeout documentation and final inspections.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
QualificationsRequired
- Construction experience in commercial, civil, or federal construction projects.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on an active construction site.
Preferred
- Experience serving as a Construction Quality Control Manager or QC Representative.
- Experience on federal government projects.
- Familiarity with National Park Service, USACE, NAVFAC, VA, or other federal construction standards.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with project documentation and quality management systems.
Compensation
