We are presently seeking a medical billing specialist for our team. The ideal candidate will have several years of medical billing/coding experience, preferably working with audiology.
Summary : Checks billing data from medical office to ensure amounts and account numbers are accurate. Prepares invoices, compiling itemized charges, and submits invoices for reimbursement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Answers patient's questions regarding statements and insurance coverage.
Computes billing charges and assigns billing numbers for tracking purposes.
Contacts insurance company to verify medical insurance coverage for patient and to obtain information concerning extent of benefits.
Reads computer printout to ascertain monthly costs, schedule of medical procedures completed, and type of procedures performed for patient.
Prepares invoices, compiling itemized charges, and submits invoices for supervisory approval of charges and credit terms.
Prepares forms for governmental, welfare, and other agencies paying bill of specified patient.
Performs other miscellaneous duties as needed.
