General Summary
Serves as a trusted advisor to leaders, employees, and HR colleagues by providing expert guidance on complex employee relations matters. Promotes fair, consistent, and compliant people practices while mitigating risk, strengthening leader capability, and fostering a respectful, inclusive, and high-performing workplace. Manages sensitive employee relations issues and investigations and partners closely with HR Business Partners, Legal, Compliance, and operational leaders. Contributes to the development and continuous improvement of enterprise employee relations practices, policies, and education.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:

Manages and resolves complex employee relations matters, including performance management, corrective action, workplace conflict, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, accommodations, and involuntary separations.

Conducts prompt, thorough, objective, and well-documented investigations into sensitive and high-risk concerns.

Prepares findings, recommendations, and guidance aligned with policy, precedent, and legal considerations.

Partners with Legal and Compliance on matters involving regulatory risk, agency charges, or litigation support.

Coaches and advises leaders on effective employee relations practices, consistent application of policy, and risk-aware decision-making.

Partners closely with HR Business Partners to align employee relations guidance with business and workforce strategies.

Provides employee relations consultation and risk assessment support for organizational change initiatives, including reorganizations and workforce transitions.

Contributes to the development, revision, and implementation of employee relations policies, standards, tools, and practices.

Identifies trends and systemic issues through analysis of employee relations cases and data; recommends proactive interventions.

Develops and delivers education and resources for leaders and HR colleagues related to employee relations, investigations, and people management practices.

Maintains accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of employee relations cases in designated HR systems.

Ensures all employee relations activities comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and organizational standards.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
-
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field Required
Work Experience:
-
2 years Relevant experience. of progressive Human Resources experience, with significant focus in employee relations, investigations, or labor/employee relations Required

Experience in healthcare, highly regulated, or large, matrixed organizations Preferred

Experience supporting responses to external agencies (e.g., EEOC) and partnering with Legal Preferred
Courses and Training:

Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Upon Hire Preferred or

Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Upon Hire Preferred or

SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) Upon Hire Preferred or
-
SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) Upon Hire Preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Demonstrated knowledge of employment law and employee relations best practices

Proven ability to manage complex, sensitive matters with sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism
