American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in the Houston, TX area, requiring at least 1 year of acute ER experience and active TNCC, ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications.

Located in a hospital emergency department on the 1st floor of the North Tower

28-bed ED with a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio

Day shift staffing includes a charge nurse, 10 RNs, 2-3 techs, and 1 unit secretary

Common procedures include IV starts, blood draws, resuscitation, and EKGs
-
EMR system: Meditech
-
Schedule: 7A–7P (12-hour day shifts)

Requires 4 weekend shifts per month

No on-call responsibilities

No floating required

Active TX or Compact RN license required

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI (or accepted equivalent: SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA), and NIH Stroke Scale — all issued by AHA or ARC, with no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment

Minimum 1 year of recent acute ER experience required

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Trauma experience is preferred

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
