MeaeCare, Inc. is looking for skilled and caring Optometric Technicians to perform in-home retinal screenings. Your main responsibility will be taking images of patients’ retinas to help detect diabetic retinopathy. This job requires regular travel (both local and nationwide) and offers a flexible schedule, independence, and the chance to make a real impact on people’s eye health.

Key Responsibilities
In-Home Visits:As part of our in-home care model, providers conduct professional and compassionate adult and geriatric health evaluations in the comfort of members’ homes. This approach ensures a welcoming and patient-centered experience that fosters trust and encourages patients to openly communicate their health needs. DRS Camera technicians take retinal images using portable optometry equipment. During the visit educate patients on eye health and the importance of early detection. These evaluations help identify potential health risks and provide valuable insights into each patient’s overall well-being.
Diabetic Retinopathy Assessments: Perform in-home health screenings via diabetic eye screenings, ensure clear, accurate imaging and proper patient documentation. Follow all safety and cleaning protocols for equipment and patient visits.
Accurate Reporting: Document health evaluations and screenings with precision and professionalism. Ensure timely submission of reports and patient health data to maintain high standards of care and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Schedule
- Flexible scheduling: Choose shifts that align with your availability, Monday through Sunday (no night shifts required).
- Required commitment of maximum 23 days travel per month.

Qualifications for In-Home Technician Role
Education & Certification
o High school diploma (associate’s degree or optometric training preferred).
o Certification or experience as an Optometric Technician.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in optometry
- Experience in conducting health assessments, chronic care management, or preventive care.
- Comfortable working independently in patient home settings.
Skills & Competencies
· Proficiency in medical documentation and comfortable using computers and digital health tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an empathetic approach to patient care.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and adapt to changing schedules.
Technical Requirements
· Experience with retinal cameras (such as Optos or fundus photography).
· Familiarity with portable diagnostic equipment for home assessments
- Ability to document and transmit medical information electronically.
Physical & Other Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel.
- Willingness to travel nationwide for in-home visits up to 23 days per month.
- Ability to lift and carry medical equipment as needed.
- Compliance with HIPAA and all other applicable health and safety regulations.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in home health or community-based care.
- Multilingual capabilities are a plus, particularly in high-demand languages for the service area.
- Advanced certifications such as geriatrics, palliative care, or diabetes management are desirable.
Benefits:

· Pay range: $80,000 – $120,000/year (contract role)
