Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote early childhood development, literacy education, and social-emotional skills.
- Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management.
- Engage children through interactive activities, including play-based learning, physical education, and basic math concepts aligned with Montessori principles when applicable.
- Monitor each child's developmental progress using standardized testing methods and provide tailored support for children with special education needs or requiring early intervention.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, behavior reports, and developmental milestones in compliance with mandated reporting laws.
- Collaborate with families to communicate children's progress, address concerns, and support ongoing child welfare initiatives.
- Manage classroom routines efficiently while ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting, particularly with toddlers.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Familiarity with early intervention practices, special education accommodations, and literacy education methodologies.
- Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing Montessori or similar educational approaches is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to create inclusive learning environments that support diverse learners' needs.
- Certification in early childhood education or related fields is preferred; ongoing professional development in preschool teaching is encouraged.
