TRIO Upward Bound is seeking an Academic Tutor to support TRIO high school participants who are low-income, first-generation, and college bound. Tutors will provide academic support in core curriculum areas, including:

Math
-
Science
-
English
-
Foreign Language
-
Other subject areas as needed
Tutoring will be conducted in small groups or classroom settings. Tutors are expected to:

Maintain accurate documentation (e.g., tutoring logs)

Communicate regularly with the TRIO Upward Bound Director and Educational Advisor
Skills Needed:
-
Strong ability to connect and build rapport with students from diverse, multicultural backgrounds
-
Ability to work independently and manage assigned duties responsibly

Professionalism in working with school counselors, teachers, and TRIO staff

Reliability and commitment to regular scheduling
Work Schedule:
Tutoring sessions will take place twice a week on:

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays

Time: 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree or 60+ college credit hours

At least 1 year of experience tutoring students in TRIO or other federally funded educational programs
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject area
-
At least 1 year of experience tutoring in school settings
