Job Summary
Please note, we operate a small 2 bay shop with limited climate control.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Small Engine Mechanic to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of small engines and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our clients’ outdoor power equipment, generators, and mechanical systems running smoothly.
Duties
- Diagnose and repair small engines, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers, and other outdoor power equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and spark plug replacements.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues effectively.
- Repair diesel engines and power generation systems with precision and attention to detail.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and other specialized equipment to complete repairs.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics and repairs on small engines and related equipment.
- Report to owner (Solomon) who will act as your service manager, minimizing your interactions with customers. However you will occasionally greet customers that walk in.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or extensive service technician background in small engine repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of small engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
- Experience with schematics, electrical diagnostics, soldering, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and manual handling safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Some customer service skills with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy machinery is a plus.
- Valid certification or training in Stihl or ASE is a bonus.

PAY IS COMISSION BASED AT 30% PER INVOICE. YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE UP TO $30 HOURLY IF YOU WORK EFFICIENTLY, OR THE POTENTIAL TO MAKE LESS THAN $20 HOURLY IF YOU DO NOT . PAY WILL BE WEEKLY. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR TAXES.
Pay: $17.00 - $30.00 per hour
