Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and safety
- Upsell menu items including wine, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Process cash and credit transactions efficiently, ensuring accuracy in sales transactions processing
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with food handling, bussing tables, and supporting kitchen staff as needed to ensure smooth operations
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on wine, spirits, and menu options to elevate the guest experience
- Handle guest inquiries professionally, resolve issues promptly, and foster positive guest relations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments; fine dining experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Toast POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable; prior cocktail or spirits experience preferred
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively during busy service hours
- Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and handling cash transactions
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with wine knowledge, beverage service including spirits and cocktails is highly desirable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism
- Previous host/hostess or bussing experience is beneficial but not required; hospitality background encouraged
