Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods.
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate care plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption to ensure proper nutrition.
- Provide companionship through engaging conversations, recreational activities, and emotional support to promote mental wellness.
- Support clients with medication administration under supervision, ensuring safety and adherence to prescribed schedules.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces.
- Facilitate transportation for medical appointments or community outings using appropriate personal transportation assistance methods.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Must have legal documentation to work in the United States.
- Must be reliable, responsible, and compassionate.
- Ability to follow instructions and care plans.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to assist with basic daily activities (personal care, companionship, light housekeeping).
- Must pass a background check.
- Willing to travel with the client as needed.
