JOB DESCRIPTION
Direct hire opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer with demonstrated track record in digital and analog circuit design. This is a full time in-person position. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Firmware / Software:
- Responsible for full development of battery-operated electrical stimulation devices with software based UI- including designing, building, testing, debugging, and preparing production-ready designs.
Design Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) and Other Components, including:
- Work from original research concept and preliminary sketches, interpret and analyze requirements to define and produce schematics; component layout of the circuit board; assembly drawings, parts lists, bills of materials and descriptions of the board function, configuration, and arrangement.
- Maintain the integrity of the electrical design through a thorough understanding of component packages, ratings, power dissipation, footprints, and other pertinent information affecting designs.
- Develop and document all circuit and system designs, specifications, and test plans.
Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Documentation, including:
- Maintain familiarity with current manufacturing methods and industry design trends.
- Ensure that PCBs and related system designs are complete, accurate and fit for mass production.
- Support design activities of manufacture and test components and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Components Design and Integration:
- Demonstrated Design knowledge and hands-on building experiences in electrical systems with microprocessors and sensors such as: signal and power integrity; mixed signal processing with ADC’s and DAC’s; Low power design; circuit modeling; digital circuits and microcontrollers, and embedded programming in C / C++.
- Design and testing for product compliance, including EMC/EMI, electrical safety including IEC.
High Accuracy Data Acquisition and Signal Generation:
- Low noise - High Performance Signal Conditioning circuit design experience for signal generation.
- Familiar with electromagnetic interference (EMI) mitigation and noise reduction techniques from power supply to communication module.
PCB Knowledge & Experience:
- Understanding of PCB electronic components manufacturing processes, including PCB fabrication, materials choices and PCB assembly processes involving high-density passive components and microprocessors.
- Familiarity with all applicable industry standards: IEC, EN, or other international test standards, and IPC standards relating to PCB design.
Data Capture and Software:
- Familiarity with 32 bit micro-controller system and software design. Preferably Cortex-M series like STM32, Kinetis.
- 3+ years of Low Level/Embedded software/firmware development with excellent C/C++programming skills.
- Working experience with software for PCB design, software debugging.
Knowledge and familiarity of regulatory and compliance, including:
- FDA Design Controls, MDR, ISO 13485

- Excellent written & verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills for addressing board debugging and design issues and challenges.
Degree: BS (required) MS (preferred) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
