Johnson County Health Care Center (JCHC) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Surgical Scrub Technician to join our Surgical Services team. Located in the beautiful foothills of the Bighorn Mountains, JCHC offers the opportunity to work in a patient-centered, rural healthcare setting with a strong commitment to clinical excellence and team collaboration.
Position Summary:
As a Surgical Scrub Technician, you will be a vital part of the operating room team, assisting surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by ensuring a sterile environment and preparing necessary instruments and equipment. You will play a critical role in patient safety and successful surgical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are sterile and ready
- Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
- Maintain the sterile field and monitor for breaches in aseptic technique
- Properly handle specimens and assist with equipment care and maintenance
- Participate in surgical team briefings and debriefings
- Support post-operative cleaning and restocking of the OR
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency surgeries
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program required
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
- Current BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Previous experience in a surgical setting preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
