We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout for a well-established general contractor in the Memphis area. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing large commercial building projects, managing project teams, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing larger commercial or multifamily construction projects in a general contracting environment and is capable of leading multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities

Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.

Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, procurement plans, and overall project execution.

Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and submittals to ensure project requirements are met.

Negotiate subcontractor agreements, manage change orders, and oversee vendor relationships.

Monitor project costs, identify risks, and implement solutions to maintain project profitability.

Coordinate closely with field leadership to resolve construction challenges and keep projects on schedule.

Ensure compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, safety regulations, and applicable building codes.

Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and client updates throughout the project lifecycle.

Mentor and provide leadership to project staff while fostering collaboration across project teams.
Requirements

8–10+ years of commercial or multifamily construction project management experience preferred.

Strong candidates with 5–6 years of relevant commercial construction experience may also be considered if they have successfully managed larger, complex projects.

Experience working for a commercial general contractor or construction management firm is required.

Proven experience managing large commercial or multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, contracts, procurement, and change order management.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Proficiency with construction project management software and Microsoft Office.

Local Memphis candidates are strongly preferred.

Candidates whose experience is limited to single-family residential construction or small-scale projects will not be considered.
