Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable Kitchen Cook to help prepare and serve meals for campers, guests, and staff. This hands-on role supports daily food service operations in a fast-paced but mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation, cooking, and plating of meals according to planned menus
- Help with food storage, inventory, and basic kitchen organization
- Maintain clean and sanitary work areas, equipment, and serving lines
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines
- Support dishwashing, setup, and breakdown of meal service as needed
- Work cooperatively with kitchen and camp staff to ensure smooth meal times
- Assist with special dietary needs and accommodations when directed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen, cooking, or food service experience preferred (camp, restaurant, cafeteria, or institutional experience a plus)
- Ability to follow recipes and verbal instructions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
- Ability to work in a team and handle a busy kitchen environment
- Basic understanding of food safety practices (ServSafe or similar training a plus)
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40–50 lbs, and work in a warm kitchen environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional special events
- Alignment with the Christian mission and values of Mt. Lebanon Camp
Schedule & Details
This is a flexible-schedule position. Most of our groups and higher activity occur during the summer season and on weekends, with additional weekday groups throughout the year. Hours will vary based on camp and conference center needs and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional special events. We look for reliable team members who can adapt to a flexible schedule that supports both peak and quieter periods.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 per week
Work Location: In person
