We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our dynamic veterinary team. Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets with enthusiasm, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience from arrival to departure
- Manage appointment scheduling using veterinary software, coordinating care for multiple patients efficiently
- Collect payments and process medical collections accurately while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with DEA and USDA regulations
- Handle front desk duties including answering phones, responding to client inquiries, and managing veterinary administrative support tasks
- Assist with animal restraint, kennel management, and basic animal husbandry to support veterinary procedures and patient comfort
- Support veterinary team members during medical-surgical procedures by preparing supplies, maintaining aseptic technique, and assisting with animal catheterization when needed
- Maintain detailed records of patient histories, laboratory results, and treatment plans in accordance with veterinary terminology standards
Skills
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Receptionist or in veterinary clinic administrative support
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and medical-surgical procedures
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain pet care instructions clearly and compassionately
- Proficiency in veterinary software systems and Microsoft Office applications for record keeping and correspondence
- Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques; kennel experience is a plus
- Knowledge of drug enforcement regulations (DEA) and USDA regulations relevant to veterinary practice
- Experience with laboratory procedures, medical collection processes, and laboratory equipment operation
- Familiarity with dog handling, animal restraint techniques, and pet care best practices
- Basic understanding of equine experience is advantageous but not required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
