Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Front Office Insurance and Billing Coordinator to join our administrative team. This role is vital in managing patient insurance processes, billing procedures, and medical record documentation to ensure smooth clinic operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of medical billing, coding, and insurance claims management, contributing to efficient revenue cycle management.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments, ensuring accurate information for billing purposes.
- Assist with answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments and taking new intake information
- Maintain accurate medical records by documenting billing activities, insurance correspondence, and patient information within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Assist patients with billing inquiries, explaining charges, payment options, and insurance benefits clearly and professionally.
- Stay current with updates in medical coding standards, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations to ensure compliance and optimize reimbursement processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing, collections, or front office administrative roles within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) EMR/EHR systems used for documentation and billing purposes. Tebra EHR system usage is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in handling medical records and billing documentation.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and clinical staff.
- Prior experience in a mental health or outpatient clinic environment is preferred but not required.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
